White Anti-racist Summit conference series 2005 - 2009
The White Anti-racist Summit series took place at the annual White Privilege Conference over the course of 5 years. The White Privilege Conference is an annual event under the founding and continuing leadership of Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr. Dr Moore was a participant in CSWAC's 2002 White Anti-racist Leadership Conference in New Orleans. Through his support and the institutional structure of the White Privilege Conference, the White Anti-racist Summit was able to offer participants a reduced conference rate and CSWAC was able to raise some modest funds to underwrite our work on the summit event.
The White Anti-racist Summit series provided a networking opportunity for white anti-racists across the country at a time when few other opportunities existed. Few exist even today. During the summits, information on programs and activities was shared and participants were able to sharpen their practice based on reports of the experiences of other people and groups from across the country. The summit also provided a means of supporting and encouraging the attendance of many white anti-racist activists at the 3-day White Privilege Conference.
